A large family bought this newly built townhouse near Puerto Banús as a place to gather. They wanted two things that usually pull against each other: an easy, comfortable house while everyone is in it, and quiet confidence while it stands empty between visits. Most of the family also runs the family business, so the house had to work as somewhere they could actually get things done, not only relax. The house itself was already standing; we fitted the systems into it to serve both.
A holiday home for a big family is used in bursts. It fills up for a few weeks, then empties for months. The systems had to hold up under both. When the house is full, a dozen people stream, call and work at once, and the network cannot buckle under it. When it is empty, the owners are often in another country and need to know the place is looking after itself. And with guests coming and going, nothing could depend on someone remembering a password or reading a manual.
Foundation. We put in a Wi-Fi 6 network strong enough for the whole family to work and stream at the same time. A QR code on the entry display joins guests to the network without anyone reading out a password.
Capability. Security runs on Ajax across the house, with fire and leak sensors alongside the intrusion detection. If a leak is found, the house shuts off its own water supply and the owners get a note saying it has already been handled. In the case of fire, the alert carries the emergency number, because in that moment seconds matter and no one should be hunting for it.
Orchestration. A ThinKNX server ties the house together, with full voice control through Siri for the everyday things. The Airzone climate already in the building was brought into the same system, so heating and cooling answer to the house rather than sitting apart from it. The result is one house, run from one place, whether the family is in it or half a continent away.
When the family arrives, the house is ready: the network holds for everyone at once, and the controls are plain enough that no one asks how they work. When they leave, it looks after itself, closing off a leak before it spreads and calling for attention only when something truly needs it. One newly built house that does both jobs.
