The owners had inherited a smart-home system that no longer did as it was told. Lights came on by themselves. The climate was hard to set. And the logic behind all of it was a mystery: the previous installer had left no accounts and no passwords, so the people who owned the house didn’t really control it. They asked us to take the system over and turn it into something anyone could use, even on the first day. That is what we did.
Fixing an inherited system is often harder than building a new one. We took on automation that switched lights on by itself, thermostats that had failed, climate no one could set properly and control logic that followed no readable pattern. On top of that, the owners had no accounts and no passwords. Across the house, the gardens and the pool, they had no real access to what was already installed. Before anything could be rebuilt, the house had to be handed back to the people who lived in it.
Foundation. We rebuilt the network with Wi-Fi 6 across the whole property, then changed every password and handed the accounts back to the owners. The house was theirs to control again.
Capability. We serviced the Dahua CCTV, replaced the faulty hardware and fitted Zennio thermostats that are simple to read and set. The garden lighting was replaced and tuned to the shape and height of the planting, with automated scenes on a KNX and DALI layer.
Orchestration. We rewrote the software on the ThinKNX server and rebuilt the control logic from the ground up, into one clear way to run the house that reads the same to everyone who picks it up. From the entrance gate to the pool cover, everything now answers to the same logic, backed by Schneider Electric switchgear.
The house finally runs the way it should, on one simple control from the entrance gate to the pool cover. Most of all, the owners got what the previous setup never gave them: full access to their own systems, the accounts and passwords in their hands and a home they can use without anyone to call. All of it done in a month.
